Habi Collective tries its very best to spread awareness about the uniqueness and beauty of grassroots Filipino culture, both in its productions and in speaking engagements. We believe that our indigenous values and knowledge systems contain the sensible -- and actually scientific -- solutions to our country's innumerable mistakes and misfortunes.

 

In particular, we always pinpoint the indigenous Filipino tendency to respect ALL genders especially in pre-conquest societies, ever since we pursued the subject in relation to our documentary "Walang Rape sa Bontok" ('Bontok, Rapeless'). Indigenous Filipino culture as anti-thesis to rape culture and gender inequality has been a prominent topic in the different fora and seminars we speak in.
